Since the beginning of school, back when it was my first day as a 8th grader. Our very first topic for LA class was identity. Identity plays a very important role in our lives, it's what makes you, you. My identity would be an average middle school student who is nice, gentle and calm. It's the story of a boy who is trying to master a language while learning new concepts all the time; it is the story of a boy who have been in RIS for 3 year and it is the story of a boy who like to work collaboratively with other and loves to learn new things. This is pretty much my identity, but this isn't the end yet.
In school, my teacher often make us do a project or a piece of work that needs to be done together, for example the Science Expo project or the Language arts rubric that we needed to turn it into our own words. This is the type of work that I love to do, as I said I really enjoy working in groups rather than doing it Independently. The advantage of working in a group is that you can get things done easier and faster, you can have fun with your friends while working and especially when you don't understand something, your classmates are there to help you out. For me, it is way better when working in a group than doing it all by yourself, but, you'll get to that point where you you have to do things all by yourself too, a good example would be a test. I know that you can't do a test with a partner, but before the test, you can study together with you friends.
This is how school work relates to my identity. Other people identities might be different from mine, so what? I can't change anyone else identity except for myself. So don't be afraid of showing your identity to the world. You can't chose the way you want to be born, but you can change the way you want to be like. Identity is what makes you, you .....
