Courage since your birth?

Courage is something that you cannot be born with, according to John Locke every man was born with the blank state. This means that all men are born with nothing except their natural rights, people will increase their experiences throughout their life. Your surrounding is a major effect on courage. For example: your parents raised you to be brave and they encourage you to try new things; this will help you gain courage. On the other hand, your parents raised you and told you to be quite and don’t get in troubles; this is not helping you gain courage. In conclusion courage is not born with you, but you have to develop it during your lifetime. Courage is within you, but you don’t know and when it is the right time, you’ll know.

  1. I agree with your your idea because I also think that humans are not born with courage. Furthermore, when babies were born, they don't even know the definition of courage so how are the suppose to know how to have courage.

  2. I truly agree with you that courage can be develop in our life. Your connection of John Locke and the blank slate, tabula rasa, to courage was a well-thought connection. You connected what we learned in social studies to language arts. Good Job!! You also gave examples that help supported your opinion, and made it stronger. This blog post is well written and has great sentence fluency. Nice Work!! :)

  3. I sort of disagree with your idea that humans don't have courage since birth. This is because courage is something that our body must have since birth, or what I call "base" courage. There are 3 things that I believe people are born with, natural rights, wisdom and courage. If we don't have this 3 we could not survive in this world. But I do agree that people can develop courage since if we can't, there wouldn't be a country or new inventions!
